US policymakers increasingly recognize diversity, equity, and inclusion as a vital component of effective development policy. As a major multilateral stakeholder, and the world’s largest bilateral foreign assistance donor, the US will be a key player in driving the global development sector to more ardently adopt inclusive and equitable practices. Having already voiced a commitment to gender, racial and economic equality, the incoming Biden administration has set the stage for a potentially intersectional approach in its development policy. Following the publication of both Women of Color Advancing Peace and Security’ (WCAPS) report, Top Issues for Women of Color in Peace and Security, and the Center for Global Development’s White House and The World, please join us for an event that will explore recommendations for how a new administration can translate early commitments into concrete actions putting DEI at the center of global development policy.
