Climate Change
Working Group
Purpose: The Why Behind Our Work
We envision a future where intersectional gender perspectives are fully integrated into climate policy frameworks. We aspire to amplify diverse voices, and foster inclusive dialogue and collaboration among all stakeholders, ensuring that the unique experiences and insights of marginalized communities, particularly women of color, are central to climate action. By championing this approach, we aim to drive meaningful change that addresses the complexities of climate challenges, while promoting equity and justice for all.
Scope: Defining our Focus
Our mission is to co-create a dedicated space for women of color (WOC) to engage in meaningful discussions about climate-related challenges and to develop equitable and just initiatives that address these issues. Recognizing that climate change is increasingly central to conversations about our environment, global security, and its impact on marginalized groups, we aim to establish a supportive platform where WOC can safely share experiences and insights. By fostering a collaborative network of organizations and experts, we seek to co-create innovative solutions for healing our planet, ensuring peace, and promoting security for all.
Maintain the integration of an intersectional gender perspective into existing and future climate policy frameworks that will create a platform for diverse voices.

Goals/Objectives: Targeted Outcomes
Create a network of WOC who engage in climate-related activities:
Determine the focus of the groups on issues of climate change and draft policy papers and policy briefs;
Conduct interviews with women in the field; and
Host seminars and discussions to raise awareness of the issues.
