Mission
HBCU Connection looks to bring the rich history and perspective of HBCUs to the global community by leveraging strategic partnerships that cultivate avenues for equitable and inclusive pathways to resources, opportunities, and experiences aimed at elevating the HBCU community’s participation in global society.

Purpose

1. Cultivate opportunities to gain valuable experience through exposure to leading global experts.

2. Promote professional and educational training, internships, volunteer and fellowship opportunities, developing strategic research and historical resources, and programming.

3. Identify and amplify the interests of HBCUs and their students, alum, and faculty in diverse fields in the global sector.

4. Develop HBCUs into globally ranked institutions that provide students, alumna, and faculty with the critical skills and training to make an impact in the global society.

Goals

1. Engage and connect the HBCU community to the global field to expand their network and create diversity in the field.

2. Establish partnerships with relevant international institutions, non-governmental organizations, and other relevant entities to engage the HBCU community globally.

3. Provide the HBCU community with fellowship, internship, career, and degree advancement opportunities focusing on diverse global fields.

4. Highlight and engage HBCU alumna currently working in or have worked in global spaces, such as peace and security, international education, and foreign policy.

5. Promote perspectives of the HBCUs community on national and international topics of interests through publications, speaking engagements, commentary, and analysis.
