April Love

April S. Love is a Co-Chair for WCAPS Human Rights Working Group. In addition to her work with WCAPS April is an attorney and public policy professional specializing in advocacy, human rights, and social and racial equity. April currently serves as a Policy Analyst, and also regularly works with organizations where she leads and advises on research projects that deal with a multitude of topics concerning the social and legal impacts of public policies. April is a graduate of Southern University Law Center, where she received her law degree along with certificates in Public Law and Tax Law and served at the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Race, Gender, and Poverty.

April also received her Master’s degree from the University of Mississippi, and her Bachelor’s degree from Tougaloo College. April is a 2022 Women in Government Relations Judy Schneider Fellow and a participant in the first Culture of Health Leadership Institute for Racial Healing cohort with the National Collaborative for Health Equity. Outside of work April enjoys spending time with her son and traveling.
