Bassima Alghussein
Ms. Alghussein is Managing Partner of Alghussein Global Strategies, a government affairs and communications consulting firm based in Washington D.C. The firm has executed projects involving the U.S. Congress, U.S. Dept. of State, European Union, British Parliament, Egyptian Parliament, International Monetary Fund and the World Economic Forum. Ms. Alghussein is also a Truman National Security Project Political Expert.
Ms. Alghussein is a well-sought after public speaker who frequently appears on international news outlets to discuss foreign and domestic policy issues including: Fox News Channel, Fox Business Channel, Al Arabiya, Al Jazeera, i24News, CGTN, TRT World, EgyptTen and BBC World News reaching audiences in the United States, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. She is a prolific writer and has been published by: Foreign Affairs, Al Jazeera English, and The American Conservative. Ms. Alghussein has spoken at the National Press Club for International Women’s Day, among other prestigious venues.
Ms. Alghussein previously served as a White House appointed Legislative Affairs Advisor to the U.S. Dept. of Energy and is a graduate of the White House Management Leadership Training Program. She previously led Congressional relations for the Center for Strategic and International Studies-- consistently ranked the world's most influential defense think tank-- working with global leaders including Zbigniew Brzezinski and Henry Kissinger, among others. She began her career in the U.S. House of Representatives working for a member of the Armed Services Committee.
She is a proud cum laude graduate of Mount Holyoke College in International Relations and is writing her Masters thesis at the Georgetown School of Foreign Service in Security Studies. She previously studied and worked at Yale University for the Ivy Scholars Program, a program housed the International Security Studies Department.
