Reimagining Foreign Aid

WCAPS International Development Working Group and Oxfam America’s Aid Effectiveness Team will be soliciting feedback on an initial set of policy proposals that Oxfam hopes will help reform US global development engagement by introducing a new vision for the role of foreign aid. The goal of our “reimagining” exercise is to propose some big ideas that will move the discourse around US development engagement in a more bold and transformational direction. But before we publicly launch an agenda, we wanted to collect your candid feedback. In particular, we’d like to learn your perspective on which of these ideas that you find valuable, worthy of further development, or those that may not be useful for Oxfam to pursue. We ultimately hope to contribute to reforming aid to be more responsive of people’s lived experiences, challenge unfair power dynamics, and usher in an era of feminist aid.
