Isabelle Lobo

Isabelle Lobo is a Peace and Security Intern at WCAPS. She is a senior at Amherst College double majoring in Applied Statistics and Law, Jurisprudence, and Social Thought. Most recently, she was part of the non-profit Project Mumbai’s team recognized by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Action Campaign for its outreach efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic. At Amherst, Isabelle is President of Amherst College’s Campus Activities Board, Community Chair of the Asian Culture House, and a member of the Council of Amherst College Student Athletes of Color. Academically, Isabelle is interested in the intersection of quantitative and qualitative analysis. In the past, she used economic models to investigate the impact of microfinance organizations on economically backward women entrepreneurs in Mumbai. She is currently in the process of conducting and presenting extensive research on the use of sedition laws to stifle dissent in right-wing, populist government run states.
