WCAPS Members Top National Security and Foreign Affairs Leadership List

WCAPS Executive Director Shalonda Spencer leads a group of WCAPS members that placed on the annual U.S. National Security & Foreign Affairs Leadership List.

The list, released by The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), in partnership with the Diversity in National Security Network (DINSN), honors the contributions of diverse practitioners in U.S. national security and foreign policy.

This year’s list features leaders serving in a range of roles across the fields of journalism, academia, defense, development, diplomacy, veterans policy, politics, think tanks, technology, homeland security, international agriculture, international economics and trade, business, among others, according to CSIS.

“I’d like to congratulate my fellow WCAPS family members for their hard work, diligence and commitment to raising up the voices of women of color in international security over the past year,” said Shalonda Spencer. “It is truly an honor to be named among such a distinguished list. If anything, this shows that there remains a path ahead for diverse voices and inclusion into discussions on international security and foreign affairs.”
