YOUNG AMBASSADOR PROGRAM

VISION

We believe that empowering young women of color in developing their experiences and passions in global leadership is imperative to our communities and to the global community. We want to provide a platform to encourage young women of color to pursue their interests in the fields of international peace, security and conflict transformation. Through mentorship programs, blogs, podcasts, webinars, and joint programming, we are committed to connecting young women of color across the world to ignite passionate voices and support the next generation.

MISSION

In the areas of peace, security and conflict transformation, the voices of women of color are not adequately represented. It is essential that diverse views are encouraged and cultivated. Young women of color have a critical role and perspective that will help to expand and transform conversations happening on a global scale in peace and security. By connecting professional mentors working in the fields of peace, security, and conflict transformation with young women entering the field we hope to develop a network while facilitating a platform for growth.

WCAPS Young Ambassadors will provide a platform for young women of color to dialogue through blogs, podcasts, and programming, to develop discussions and share relevant information in the field. The network will also be partnering with other related organizations, on a local and international scale, to bridge the gap between young women of color and the diaspora around the world. The WCAPS Young Ambassador program is timely and imperative for a growing international community, where young women of color will be increasingly involved and the key to our growth as a global community.
